While many of us look forward to the joy of the holiday season, for those in our community facing poverty or hardship, this time of year can feel especially difficult. With your kindness and generosity, we are able to spread holiday cheer to more than 2,000 local children, families, and seniors in our local community who are in need.
We need your help fulfilling our local community’s wish lists this year!
Serving our local Palm Beach County community for over 30 years
Welcome to The Giving Tree!
We’re a 100% volunteer-run, small local nonprofit with a small volunteer committee and hundreds of volunteers from around our Palm Beach county community. Our volunteer kids, teens, families and seniors. together, spread kindness, dignity, and hope to those in need in our local community. We treat every person we serve like a member of our own family and provide them with the essential support with access to the basic necessities for themselves and their families.
Our Community Programs include:
The Giving Tree began in the late 1980s with a simple, heartfelt mission. Founded by Myra Singer z”l in her garage with just a few friends, her goal was to bring joy to children and families during the holidays, making sure everyone had a gift and a reason to smile.
Today, we’re proud to carry on Myra’s legacy. With the help of dedicated volunteers and local community partnerships, we identify and support foster children, struggling families, homeless teens, and those facing difficult situations like medical crises, fires, or the loss of a loved one.
Thanks to the generous backing of Temple Beth El, its volunteers and our wider Palm Beach county nonprofit community, we now annually serve over 2,000 children, teens and seniors during our Holiday Wish List Program. We also yearly assist over 400 families in more dire with our Quiet Giving Program. And during the hectic and often expensive summer months , The Giving Tree runs our Back to School Program provides backpacks full of essential school supplies to over 500 local families in need.
The need continues to grow each year and we are grateful for the kindness and generosity of the Temple Beth El volunteers and all the wonderful community volunteers from all around Palm Beach county. Everyone that helps us extend a helping hand to a local family in need helps to continue to spread hope and brighten lives, one act of kindness at a time.
